Haverhill — Barbara A. (Beherrell) Malonson, 77, formerly of Lynnfield and Plum Island, fell asleep in death on March 25, 2014.
Born in Lynn on September 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Eva (Larkin) Beherrell.
Barbara graduated from Wakefield High School, and continued her education studying at Burdett College and Northern Essex Community College. She was able to raise her family on Plum Island, a place she loved and where she lived for thirty years. During that time she had written a weekly column about the people and events on the island for the Newburyport Daily News. Following her move to Haverhill, Barbara worked as a water aerobics instructor for the Haverhill YMCA for many years. Barbara loved her family and cherished the time spent with them at the beach and on long rides to the mountains. She attended the Market Street Baptist Church in Amesbury.
She was much beloved and will be sadly missed by her daughters, Robin Clemence and husband, Paul, of Rowley, Kimberly Brown and husband, Brian, of Salisbury, Elizabeth Malonson of Haverhill; son, James Malonson of Haverhill; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to the memorial service on Saturday, March 29, at noon, at the F.S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St., Rowley. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment at Main Street Cemetery in Rowley.
