Newburyport — Veronika (Borsiczky) Mann, 68, of Newburyport, loving wife of H. Thompson Mann, M.D., died unexpectedly in her home November 8, 2013.
Born in Budapest, Hungary and raised in New York City, Veronika attended Barnard College where she studied English. An accomplished writer, Veronika had a long career in journalism, both as a freelancer and working for Rolling Stone during its early years in San Francisco. In recent years after raising her family, she had become a skilled photographer and started a small photography business in Newburyport.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Alexandra Mann of New York, NY; twin sons, Edward Mann of Richmond, VA and James Mann of San Diego, CA; a brother, Sandor Borsiczky of Montreal, and a stepfather, Bartholomew Hargitay of White Plains, NY. She will be greatly missed.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, Nov. 15 in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich followed by interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Newbury. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Greater Newburyport YWCA, 13 Market St., Newburyport, MA 01950.
