Amesbury, MA — Arthur Tessimond, a lifelong Amesbury resident, passed away enexpectedly Sunday at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was born in Amesbury and was the son of the late Nathaniel and Marie (Gilbert) Tessimond.
Arthur was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He returned from the war and was employed many years at Bailey's MFG until his retirement. He was also and auxiliary officer for the Amesbury Police Dept. He will be remembered as being a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Theresa.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Arthur Tessimond Jr. and wife Kathy of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Susan Brambilla and husband Mark of Epping, N.H.; two sisters, Marjorie Whiting of Merrimac, Mass., and Dorothy Tessimond of Amesbury; three grandchildren, Jesse Merrill, and Andrew and Rebecca Tessimond; two great-grandchildren, Miles and Levi Merrill; and nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St., Amesbury, followed by burial in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, are Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.
