Constance M. Boni, 91

Merrimac, MA — Constance M. Boni, 91, died peacefully on August 15, in her sleep. Coni was the daughter of the late Walter Wainor and Mary Shelales. Coni grew up in South Boston, and met John Boni at the Casa Loma in East Bridgewater. The two married on October 9, 1949, and raised their children in the house she and John built in East Bridgewater. She worked for H. P. Hood as a clerk and then for Veteran’s Affairs for 10 years. She was an active member of St. John’s Parish, and was the church organist for more than 30 years, and a member of the Women’s Guild. Her passion was golf, which she played at Ridder’s and Strawberry Valley. She was active in her community and was an E. B. Savings Bank trustee and corporator, on the board of the E.B. Housing Authority, and one of two women who are honorary lifetime members of the E. B. Commercial Club. She was a member of the American Airlines Three Diamond Club and Van Guards. Her other hobbies were baking bread, reading and painting. In 2009, Coni moved to Merrimac, to be closer to her family. While in Merrimac, she renewed her interest in painting, taking lessons at the Merrimac Senior Center. Coni was the loving wife of the late John A. “Mickey” Boni, and mother of Dr. Barbara Cyr and husband, Russell, of Amesbury, and Francesca (Fran) Williams and husband, Richard, of Aiken, S.C. She was the grandmother of Dr. Andrew Cyr and wife, Lindsey Olander, Lisa Fulford and husband, Rick, and Katie and Dianne Davis. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Anna Wainor; nephews, Ken Wainor, and Rodney and Bob Philbrick; and nieces, Terri Junior and Mary Ann Libby. She will also be missed by family friends, Paul, Paula, Jeffrey, Greg, Emily, and Megan King, Erin Beasley, and Neil Davis, as well as David and Karen Miele, and Mark and Holly Pouliot.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring Street, East Bridgewater, on Thursday, August 22, at 8 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Church, East Bridgewater, at 9 a.m., followed by a burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
