Alan B. Barowy, 64

Salisbury — Alan B. Barowy passed away on Sunday, November 4, peacefully, with his loving family by his side, after a courageous battle against Metastatic Melanoma cancer. He was born on March 28, 1948, at Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport. He attended local schools, graduating with honors from Newburyport High School in 1966.

He leaves his loving wife of 41 years, Bonnie (Lutz) Barowy; his daughter, Jennifer Barowy; his son, Joshua Barowy and wife Elizabeth M. Barowy; three grandchildren who were his greatest joy; his brother, David Barowy, whom he always took care of; his aunt, Ceciela (Morrill) Russell; his uncles William Morrill and Paul Morrill; his aunts, Dorothy Morrill, Margorie Morrill, and Lorraine Barowy; father and mother-in-law Harry and Lou Lutz of Kittery Point, Maine; brother-in-law, Dana Lutz of Somersworth, N.H.; his nephew, Jason Barowy; and niece, Heather Lutz; and many cousins.

He worked very hard all his life. First with his father doing tree work and landscaping, then at Towle Manufacturing Company where he was a foreman in the silver flatware department. When that company closed he went to Northern Essex Community College where he was on their Dean's List and President's List. Then he went to work in retail, first at Lechmere and then Ames Department stores where he became an assistant manager.

He was predeceased by his father, Walter Barowy in 2008, and his mother, Olive Barowy in 2010.

ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no services at this time. There will be a memorial with family at a later date. Any donations should go to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA. Arrangements are being done by Casper Funeral Services, Boston.
