NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla.— Carol A. (Lupa) Dunphy, 64, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 10, 2011.
Carol was born October 11, 1947 in Newburyport to the late Hazel and Matthew Lupa of Moulton Street. She was the mother of Tristan Dunphy and beloved wife of Warren Dunphy both of New Port Richey.
She attended local schools, graduating from Newburyport High School in 1965. Carol continued her education and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and taught High School in Maryland after graduating from college. She later taught at Ruppert Knock School in Newburyport before moving to Florida in 1986.
Carol used her teaching skills to become a trainer with IBM in Tampa, Florida, enjoying her business travel to Portugal on several occasions, always bringing home small gifts for her family. After retiring in 1999 she especially enjoyed more local travel and loved to spend time shopping in the Walt Disney area in Orlando these last several years.
In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by her younger sister, Joanne Lupa, of Norton, Ma., a brother , Matthew Lupa, of Haverhill, Ma., as well as her nieces and nephews; Joyce Dow of Exeter, N.H., Scott Dow of Raymond, N.H. Shawn Lupa of Gilbert, Az., Justin Lupa of Salisbury, Ma., Brett Lupa of Haverhill, Ma., and Sarah Lupa Walton of New Port Richey, Fl. Carol was predeceased by sisters Joyce and Paula. Carol infectious laugh and kindness will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her.
