Newburyport, MA — Dorothy E. (Bartlett) Corporon, age 83, longtime Newburyport resident, died Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012 at the Sea View Retreat in Rowley, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Lynn, November 3, 1928, she was one of five children of the late John P. and Dorothy E. (Brinkler) Bartlett and was a graduate of Lynn English High School.
A devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she raised her six children with unconditional love, selflessness, understanding and her utmost of patience. Dorothy enjoyed time with her family, reading, painting and traveling with her husband. In her later years, Dorothy spent much of her time enjoying the warm weather and sun filled skies of Vero Beach, Florida where she and her husband spent their retirement. If Dorothy had one true indulgence, it was that of her love of ice cream which her doting husband provided during his daily visits.
In addition to the love of her life and husband of 59 years, Ashley Corporon, she leaves behind her six children, Debra Crocker and husband Steven of Woburn; Joan O’Brien of Lebanon, Maine; Ronald Corporon of Newburyport; Glen Corporon and fiancee Debra Freeman of Danvers; Douglas Corporon of Newburyport; and Christina Neth and husband Bill of Merrimac; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bartlett of Peabody and Peter Bartlett of New York, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Roberta Monbleau of Lynn and Joan Anderson of Liberty, Maine, along with son-in-law Tom O’Brien.
She will be greatly missed by her ever-adoring husband and family.
