Herbert J. Hyder, Jr., 54

Merrimac — Herbert J. Hyder, Jr. (Chuck), passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 14, 2012 after a brief illness.

Chuck grew up in Amesbury. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, where he studied architectural engineering. He was an avid sports fan and coin collector, he also enjoyed studying the financial markets. Chuck will be most remembered for his caring, generosity and selflessness.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Verna Hyder; father, Herbert Hyder, Sr.; sister, Susan and husband, Lee Pratt of Merrimac; sister, Cathy and husband, David Carey of Newburyport; brother, Tom and wife, Crystal of St. Augustine Fla.; as well as his many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Arrangements are private upon his request, only for relatives and family. His family is deeply grateful for his care at Amesbury Village and the compassionate care he received at Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Memorial donations can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, Ma, 01830.

She was also the dear sister of the late Lois Tilton and is survived by six grandchildren. Doris was a longtime realtor serving Amesbury, Salisbury and Newburyport.
