Wayne S. Hooper, 72


St. Cloud, Fl — Wayne S. Hooper, 72, formerly of Newburyport & Amesbury MA. passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Tuesday December 20, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Newburyport September 15, 1940 to the late Samuel A. Hooper and Dorothy Brown Hodnett.

Wayne graduated from Newburyport High School class of 1958. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Feb. 1959 serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis with an honorable discharge in 1963.

He served 8 years on the Amesbury Police Department and retired from the Newburyport Police Department in 1999. He continued to do police details until 2006.

He was a member of the St. Marks Masonic Lodge in Newburyport, the VFW Lodge in St. Cloud, Fl and an active member of the Blue Knights Mass XIV and Florida XXIX.

His passions were motorcycle riding with friends, fishing and spending time with his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 30 years Sharon Richard Hooper. His daughter Terri Lynn Chapman of Kingston, NH. His sons Craig of Salisbury, MA and Eric of Plaistow, NH and a son-in-law Bruce Chapman of Merrimac, MA. Three stepdaughters Laureen Breed and her husband Putnam, Lisa Rochon and husband Marc, Lynn Pesci and fiancee William Worthen. Five grandsons Adam Chapman, Zachary Hooper, Andrew James Pesci, Nicholas Rochon and John Pesci. Two sisters Linda Durocher and Janice Maguire Joannini and husband Frances of St. Cloud, Fl, three nieces Marsha Dinardo, Cheryl Dinardo and Christine McClaren and two nephews Michael Durocher and Mark Durocher.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at E.V. Jutras Funeral Home 118 Friend St. Amesbury, MA on February 7, 2013 from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Give Kids the World, Kissimmee Fl, Hospice of the Comforters or a charity of their choice.
