Exeter, NH — Joan (Earl) Nason, 83, died on December 26, 2012 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. She was born December 12, 1929, daughter of the late John Earl and Lucia (David) Gilman in West Newbury. Raised and educated in West Newbury she was a graduate of Newburyport High School.
Joan was a self-employed Seamstress in Newburyport for many years specializing in window treatments, a profession that was perfect as she had a passion for sewing. Her work could be seen in many, many Newburyport homes. She enjoyed traveling, Walt Disney World being her all-time favorite destination, visiting there over 40 times and also playing Bingo with her many friends. Her greatest love was raising her family and especially spending time with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Arthur Nason Jr. of Peterborough, NH, Denise Hopping and her husband David of Salisbury, Annamarie Wills and her husband John of Newmarket, NH, Virginia Garand and her husband Jay of Bidderford, ME, grandchildren, Mark, Shaun, Brenda, Christopher, and Jamie, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Marilyn Cannon and Victoria Michaud as well as several nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband Arthur Nason who died December 14, 2001.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday December 30, 2012 at the Twomey LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery also in Newburyport.
