John L. Chaisson, 72


Salisbury — John L. Chaisson, longtime Salisbury resident, passed away suddenly at the V.A. Hospital in West Roxbury. He was born in Newburyport and was the son of the late Leo and Margaret (Lucey) Chaisson.

He was a 1960 graduate of Newburyport High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific. Following his service to his country, he was employed many years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, N.H. He was a member of the North End Boat Club and the American Legion. He was an avid model train enthusiast.

He is survived by seven siblings, Frances Damon of San Diego, Nancy Pollis of Amesbury, Robert Chaisson of Patten, Maine; George Chaisson of Amesbury, Denise Stanton of Newburyport, Peter Chaisson of Haverhill, and Jean Roaf of Amesbury; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many longtime friends.
