Salisbury, MA — Charles Albert Hodgdon, 67, of Salisbury, died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, November 15, 2013, at Anna Jaques Hospital.
Born in Newburyport on September 8, 1946, he was one of six children of the late Charles W. and Mary (Morey) Hodgdon. He was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1964, and Northern Essex Community College.
Charlie was a chauffeur, working for his longtime friend, David Wolpert of Newburyport.
As a lover of music and accomplished guitarist, he played locally at the former Sportsman’s Lounge in Newbury. He also enjoyed reading, bass fishing and was a faithful Red Sox fan.
His survivors include his four children, Tara Casella of La Jolla, Calif., John Hodgdon of Wenham, Kristin Hodgdon and companion, James Karakaedos of Epping,N.H., and Deborah Hodgdon of Epping; his two grandchildren, Maddison Hodgdon and Dylan Casella; his brother, Warren Hodgdon of Amesbury; his four sisters, Roseanne Cox and husband, Roland, of Kingston, N.H., Rosemary Hogan and husband, Charles, of Salisbur,; Mary Louise Michaud and husband, James “Spike,” of Seabrook, and Kathleen Murphy of Amesbury; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Eileen Modricker of Salisbury.
He will be missed by them all, but never forgotten, for his memories will forever remain a part of their lives.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be on Tuesday, November 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook.
