Marjorie (Wallace) Brooks


Georgetown — Marjorie (Wallace) Brooks, 90, passed away on February 24, 2013 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport. Marjorie was the wife of the late Ralph C. Brooks.

Born on July 11, 1922 she was the daughter of the late James M. and Annie (Young) Wallace.

Marjorie was born in Chicago, IL and educated in Brookline, graduating from Brookline High School, Class of 1940. Following her marriage she moved to Georgetown in 1951. Marjorie graduated from Robert Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her LPN degree. After her children entered school she was employed as a cafeteria worker in the Georgetown school system where she worked part-time for twenty years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Georgetown Congregational Church. An ardent walker, friends will remember her walking all around town. Marjorie was devoted to her family and cherished the time with her children and grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Richard W. Brooks and his wife Terri of Georgetown; daughters, Pamela J. Brooks of Amesbury and Deborah Kracunas and her husband Joseph of Topsfield; grandchildren, Gregory and Mark Brooks, Alison and Stephen Kracunas, and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie was the sister of the late John, Thomas and Esther Wallace.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. The funeral service will be private with interment to follow at Harmony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Marjorie’s name may be made to Hospice of North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street, Ste.
