  • Richard Zelinski, 56

    Haverhill, MA — Richard Zelinski, 56, of Haverhill, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 22. Richard was born in Jersey City, N.J., and was the son of Nancy Newton and Walter Zelinski. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Giesen, Germany, and later enlisted in the National Guard. Richard worked for many years at Kevlin Corp./Cobham Defense Systems as a test lab supervisor. In his free time, he enjoyed martial arts, SCUBA diving, working out in the early morning hours, but most of all playing tennis at Cedardale, where he was a member. He was a committed father, who deeply loved his family and firmly believed in the dignity of labor. He will be terribly missed.

Gnoza Sr.; beloved mother of Thomas Gnoza and his wife, Arlene, Susan Russell and her husband, Dave, Robert Gnoza and his wife, Debbie, John Gnoza and his wife, Vickie, Jill (Jackie) Benas and her husband, George, Mary Smith and and her husband, Charles, Gregory Gnoza and his wife, Judy, and Jeffrey Gnoza; Nana of Jessica, Matthew, Michael, Jackie, Melissa, Manny, Jo-Anna, Andrew, Zachary, Kevin, Courtney, Megan, and Allyson; as well as great-grandmother of 10. She is also survived by two sisters, Genevieve McCoole and Geraldine Robbins Chace. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Martin, Robert, John, and Helen.

In March of 2014, she was admitted to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, for circulatory issues in her legs. After complications from respiratory concerns and ongoing stays at both hospitals, Gaylee passed peacefully with both her son-in-law and her daughter at her side.

    Byfield, MA — George W. Baletsa, Jr., age 45, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, while vacationing with his family and friends on a Florida beach. George’s last days were spent doing what he loved most - entertaining family and friends and playing with his children on the beach. Born in Saugus on July 16, 1968, George will be forever remembered by his wife, Linda; his children, Adam, Brandon and Chase, his mother, Judy (Mahan-Baletsa) Oliva; his sister, Christina (Baletsa) Roffman and nephew Bailey Roffman. He was the son of the late George Baletsa. George cherished his time with his children, family and friends. George will be forever remembered by his numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and dear friends. George was a graduate of Northeastern University, receiving his B.S. in Business Management in June 1995 and his Executive M.B.A. in June 2000.

Jasmine graduated from Newburyport High School in 1996 and excelled at track and soccer, on varsity for both. She went on to obtain an Associate degree, majoring in graphic design, from Northern Essex Community College and graduated with high honors. She excelled in the arts and worked for several design firms, including Converse. Jasmine was wonderful with people and most recently worked at Agave Mexican restaurant and loved interacting with the public. She had an infectious smile and great sense of humor.
