To the editor:
In response to Marge Motes' Jan. 13 letter concerning the ban on texting: Congrats to New Hampshire for passing the ban along with the 18 other states that had the common sense to enforce this crucial law!
Statistics are now showing that cell phone use and texting place a close second for accidents and fatalities on the road after DWIs!
Massachusetts needs to look at that and get a grip on reality. You all need to contact our Mass. officials and get this ban secure.
As a retired taxi driver, the absolute worst incidents I saw on the road were people talking and texting. Can not believe the gross carelessness of the "cell phone junkies."
The fine line is: if your eyes and mind are not on the road, then you shouldn't be.
