Boot Drive raises $1,443 to fight Alzheimer's

To the editor:

We would like to acknowledge all our friends, neighbors and visitors to Newburyport who supported our Sept. 3 Boot Drive for the Alzheimer's Association. Thanks to your continued generosity, we were able to send the Alzheimer's Association MA/NH $1,443.43 in your name. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17, we will be running the 200-mile Reach the Beach Relay from Cannon Mountain to Hampton Beach. As part of the Run for the Memory team, we will continue to spotlight awareness of Alzheimer's disease and the work of the Alzheimer's Association.

While our focus is an end to Alzheimer's, the needs of our community are many. We would also like to thank all those who support and work for the many causes that care for the needs of our neighbors. There is no donation and no action too small to make a difference.
