To the editor:
We have been a nation of thieves and we're about to be punished for our infractions. In the past 60-odd years, we have been sending representatives off to Washington, D.C., to steal as much as they could to bring home the bacon. In our ecstasy over the largess they produced, we failed to acknowledge the debt they were passing on to our future or the fact that our designated thieves would naturally take more for themselves than they would be passing on to we the sheep.
Those of the liberal socialist persuasion who are among the most ardent supporters of national theft are doubly troubling in that they have a blind spot with regard to economics. They don't understand it and are perfectly happy to be represented by their peers. The lack of economic acumen causes the defect where truth never comes on their radar screen.
We have been inundated with rich socialists who think the nation isn't doing enough for the poor. I have a solution to their problem. They should choose a socialist country to live in. Once they donate their riches to their chosen country, they will be able to live in peace like the rest of the enslaved members of their new nation. Don't expect a stampede of these hypocrites charging out the door.
