Pettengill House says thanks to donors

To the editor:

The Pettengill House, Inc. hosted its eighth annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24. This year we had the opportunity to honor our guests with a delicious meal at the Amesbury Sports Park.

We would like to acknowledge and thank our event sponsors — Gold Sponsors: Institution for Savings and Leeward Industries, Inc., Silver Sponsor: Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, and Bronze Sponsors: Adams Imaging Systems, Healey, Deshaies, Gagliardi & Woelfel, PC, HUB International New England, Net Technologies, Inc., The Provident Bank and Stone Ridge Properties. Thanks also to Coastal Printing, Inc. for their in-kind donation of invitations and raffle tickets for this event.

In addition, we would like to thank everyone who helped make this event possible, especially Sandra Licciardo for her efforts coordinating the luncheon. Thanks also to our speakers: Caroline Meagher, board of directors president; Dr. Michele Robinson, superintendent of Amesbury Schools; and Detective Robert Wile, board of directors vice president.

Special thanks to Cathy Toomey for her generous donation of Red Sox tickets for our raffle and for her continuous support of the Pettengill House, and to all the volunteers who sold raffle tickets. All the proceeds will directly benefit local children and families. Congratulations to our raffle winners: Christine Biscardi and Karen Baptiste; prizes included an iPad mini and four Red Sox tickets.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all 3,500-plus donors and volunteers who support the Pettengill House year round. We could not do what we do without the support of the community!

“I had donors coming up to me, wanting to make sure that they introduced themselves and to say that we could count on their continued support! What a great thing,” said Pettengill House board of directors President Caroline Meagher. “I think that the donor luncheon is a perfect opportunity for the Pettengill House staff, board of directors and advisory board to interact with Pettengill supporters to personally thank them for their support, illustrate the community partnerships that exist and show them the impact that their support has on clients. The needs of the community are certainly increasing so our donors will be more important than ever before.”
