'Shucks for Bucks' a great success

To the editor:

Pennies for Poverty wishes to thank the Starboard Galley Restaurant, 55 Water St., Newburyport, for donating space, oysters and great hospitality for the Oyster-Fest “Shucks for Bucks” fundraiser held at the restaurant on Saturday evening, Feb. 8, in conjunction with the Newburyport Art Association Juried Award Reception. The oyster event featuring oyster shucker extraordinaire Richard Rush was highly enjoyable and extremely successful at raising money to help reduce poverty in the Newburyport area. We hope that this will become an annual event in the mid-winter social life of Newburyport. We also thank The Daily News for their help in successfully publicizing these programs.
