Our Neighbors' Table grateful for all donations

To the editor:

Our Neighbors’ Table would like to thank the many individuals, organizations, businesses, schools and churches who have hosted food drives this holiday season to benefit the ONT Food Pantry. Our Neighbors’ Table serves residents of Amesbury and 12 surrounding cities and towns, and your generous donations make a huge difference to hungry families in our community.

We are fortunate to be able to send a thank-you to all of those groups and individuals whose names we know, but we would also like to thank the many, many anonymous shoppers who donated to one or more of our large grocery store food drives this season.

In November, Pennies for Poverty/2 Cents 4 Change hosted a food drive for ONT and other area food pantries at Shaw’s in Newburyport. Also in November, the Amesbury Police Department hosted their annual Fill-A-Cruiser at Stop & Shop in Amesbury, and throughout the month of November, shoppers at Stop & Shop donated pre-boxed holiday food for Our Neighbors’ Table. On Dec. 14, the Amesbury Chamber hosted their annual food drive at Stop & Shop in Amesbury.

Thank you to all these organizations and to their volunteers, to Stop & Shop and Shaw’s, and thank you to the very generous shoppers who donated during these drives. Your offerings make a huge difference in the lives of our guests, and on their behalf, we thank you and wish you all the warmest of holiday seasons!

Lyndsey Haight

Executive director, Our Neighbors’ Table
