The Joppa Flats Running Club thanks the over 1,700 runners and sponsors at the 25th Annual Maudslay Turkey Trot. Because of the generosity of the runners and sponsors, the Joppa Flats Running Club will donate over $20,000 in cash to area charitable organizations, including: $8,000 to the Salisbury Pettengill House, $2,500 to the Newburyport Learning and Enrichment Center, $2,000 to Newburyport Opportunity Works, $2,000 to the Newburyport Salvation Army, $2,400 for Amesbury’s Our Neighbors’ Table, $1,500 to Maudslay State Park Trust. Because of the runners’ gifts, The Joppa Flats Running Club was also able to deliver a pickup truckload of foodstuff to the Our Neighbors, Table.

Joppa Flats Running Club gives special thanks to our major sponsor, The Institution for Savings, which has generously supported this race for many years. The Joppa Flats Running Club also thanks the staff and management at the Maudslay State Park and North End Boat Club for their support of this event. Thanks also to Poland Springs and Zico Water for post-race hydration. Also thanks to the Newburyport’s Boston Running Store, Ric Bayko’s Yankee Runner, All Natural Training and Alden Merrill for donating prizes.
