To the editor:
I am writing on behalf of the Friends of the Georgetown Council on Aging Committee to thank our generous friends in the community for coming to our pasta dinner last Saturday night at the First Congregational Church in Georgetown. There was a lovely mix of children, friends and family that came together to reconnect, meet new people and visit over delicious food.
We especially want to thank Steven DeSisto, our head cook, his lovely wife, Donna, and his fabulous crew — Joe Rawlins, Bob Knapp, Tracy and Dwight Southwick. They are untiring faithful servants with a wonderful can-do attitude, along with a lot of muscle.
There were enthusiastic high school students who gave freely of their time and helped out with serving food. We want to recognize Jillian Malo, MacKenzie Snyder, Isabel Harker, Rebecca Szkurak, Cassandra Conti, Elliese Ferrera, Jessica Tentindo, Kaylie Sapienza, Brigid Bratland and Kasey Lerner.
The men of Camp Denison contributed many hours to our fabulous meatballs and thanks go to Tom Newhall, Evan Morehouse, Bob Morehouse and John Regalbutto. Colleen Ranshaw-Fiorello, our Council on Aging director, along with her husband, greeted people and helped out, along with Mike Shea, Kelley Garry and Kay Ogden, of Kay's Interiors, for her raffle donations of two Georgetown afghans and a framed picture. Many thanks to all the invisible volunteers, we appreciate all your efforts.
The proceeds of the meal go to help out the Georgetown Council on Aging.
President, Friends of the Georgetown Council on Aging
