A successful Family Trivia & Pizza Night

To the editor:

On behalf of the Amesbury Middle School Parent Advisory Group, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to a hugely successful Family Trivia & Pizza Night on Feb. 1.

Thank you to all of the players who came out for a night of fun and friendly competition to support our organization.

Congratulations to the wicked smart “Fab 5” (Steve O’Connor, Mike Curry, Glynis Cooney, Mark Rinaldi, Ryan Jackson), who bested the competition for the second year in a row. The Elephants and The Dominators placed second and third, and a special shout out goes to the B.M.R. (Beat Mr. Rinaldi) team, who topped the all-student teams.

We would like to thank Flatbread Company for their very generous donation of pizzas to help fuel the competitors. Marc Chamberland of Game Time Trivia did an awesome job challenging and entertaining the players with thoughtful questions and interesting themed games. Dave Proulx at AMS made sure things ran smoothly in the cafeteria and my right-hand-gal, Linda Lynch, helped with everything from setup, concessions, scoring to cleanup.

The money raised at this event will help support programs at the middle school like field trip funding assistance, subsidizing educational and entertaining assemblies and other school support. We welcome feedback from participants to improve this event in the future, so if you have any opinions to pass along about the team entry fees (we will be making this less confusing and less expensive next time) and the level of difficulty of the questions, please email amspag@yahoo.com.

Dee Cote

President, AMS PAG
