A party to celebrate 10 years in business

To the editor:

It is with tremendous pride that I share great news from Eat Cake! We are getting ready to celebrate 10 wonderful years thriving in this great community. As a small local business, I know that we would not be where we are today without the incredible outpouring of support that we have received from family, friends, customers and other businesses in and around Newburyport. I am truly overwhelmed by the generous spirit of this town and the many people who have supported and encouraged us to get to this milestone.

I initially launched Eat Cake! out of my home kitchen. To my joy and surprise, the business and customer demand for our custom cakes just kept growing. I am grateful that we have developed such a loyal following. We have been lucky enough to have been with our clients through weddings, baby showers, first birthdays and anniversaries. It has truly been an honor for me. To all of our customers who have enjoyed their experience at Eat Cake! over the years and simply told a friend about us — thank you!

I would be remiss if I didn’t personally thank a few people — starting with my No. 1 fan, my husband, Doug, who has never faltered in his support of me, and my phenomenal staff (Kelsey Raymond, Ruth Listro, Michelle Boland, Jessie Neelon and Pam Newhall-Brown) with whom I share love and passion for our products and an unwavering commitment to quality.

To thank our loyal customers, please join my staff and me at Eat Cake! for a Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, Oct. 19. We will be handing out free mini cupcakes, balloons and have various “10 Year” themed raffles as our way of saying thank-you for helping us reach this significant 10-Year Milestone.
