Congress is immature and idiotic

To the editor:

I’m mad as hell and can’t take anymore. Thanks to Jim Furneaux’s letter to the editor of The Daily News on Oct 10, I finally decided he’s right and all citizens of this USA need to let Congress know, “This is our country.” We the people pay for it. The shutdown must be illegal because I for one was never asked what we should do and I for one never gave my permission to shut down our government (not theirs).

I cannot believe how immature and idiotic the people we sent to Washington are behaving. I am 83 years old and have voted in every election since I turned 18 years old (that’s 65 years in case you guys can’t figure it out). I keep thinking how did they ever get elected to run this country. In my opinion we the people should be able to withhold their pay and benefits until they actually have earned them. Grow up and stop acting like fouth-graders picking sides. We the people voted them in to represent us, not the lobbyists and big business who tell them what to do and pay them off somehow to let them do it.
