To the editor:
Well, here we have it, the first crack in the mainstream media’s attempt to protect the president’s image at any cost. “60 Minutes” decided it had looked the other way long enough on the Benghazi disaster. Right on top of this we are starting to hear the truth on other issues the president has been playing Mickey the Dunce with. His “I know nothing” stance on anything that has gone wrong and there are plenty of poor decisions that have been made on his watch, but he maintains he knew nothing about. Unfortunately, he has a large number of loyalists who make mistakes in his service and are willing to fall on their sword to cover for his lack of leadership by going along with his never being aware of anything.
Obamacare, his signature achievement, has in fact turned out to be another disaster that most who were paying attention predicted. The question at the end of the day is, who is really responsible? It’s you and I who have continued to elect representatives who fail to represent our interest and ignore the duty to keep their fellow representatives honest. We get these go-along-to-get-along representatives who never call attention to their colleagues’ short-comings to task so that their own faults will also be overlooked. They all claim that they would support real change to the way they have done business for the past century, but don’t hold your breath waiting for them to actually do something. Senator Paul has a bill that would require Congress to live under the rules they make for us. Pay close attention to the great rush to join Senator Paul’s effort to start real reform.
