When I wrote last month’s column, I had not had the MRI on my back. The last week of February I finally got the results and found that I have a compressed fracture in the lumbar region of my back from a fall in December. Needless to say, the news didn’t make me feel much better!
However, I now have a back brace which I wear about six hours a day and it’s not much fun!
One reader remarked that I really vented in March about all the news that I found disturbing and questionable. When it involves children, mayhem, prejudice and the horrible ways that people can treat each other, it does get to me. I wonder why we just can’t get along with each other and why there are so many horrible things happening in this world.
The Malaysian Airlines disappearance has a lot of us wondering why and how this terrible event occurred and how one plane could get lost in the world of radar and major airports. It seems that the search is going to continue beyond the time that the black box is still working. One wonders if the plane will ever be found.
Locally, I recently read an article in the paper as to how humans treat one another. How does a person get away with parking illegally, menacing and beating others, threatening people and actually using physical force to get his/or her way! This type of bully needs to be put in their place.
There is good cheer, however! We look forward to our city’s big birthday and enjoying the celebration with our neighbors and friends for a fun occasion. It is an opportunity for us to learn our illustrious citys’ history and to make new roads into its future.
