Praise for West Newbury for fire response

To the editor:

We would like to thank the West Newbury Fire Department, Police Department and emergency personnel as well as the fire departments of Groveland, Newburyport, Byfield, Newbury, Georgetown, Amesbury and Merrimac for their extraordinary effort to help us on the night of the 2013 blizzard when our house caught fire and burned down. These brave individuals battled against extreme weather conditions and a very fast-moving fire for over 12 hours and were still there all through the next day.

Their kindness, understanding and hard work will always remain with us and we are extremely grateful for their efforts. We would also like to extend our thanks to our community for all their support.
