The scariest aspect of this past election is that Mitt Romney deeply believed that he would win. I can understand being optimistic, not believing the polls and believing that there would be a groundswell of support.
But the reality was that the polls were mostly correct and the support never materialized. Mitt Romney is quite smart, but he surrounded himself with “yes” men who told him what he wanted to hear. And he believed them.
What’s scary is that as president, we need a leader who can objectively assess a situation. The WMD’s in Iraq that weren’t there, for example. If Romney couldn’t or wouldn’t acknowledge the election realities, then think of what kind of president he would have made.
