Bob Lobster appreciates veterans

To the editor:

After a walk on the beach at Plum Island on Sunday, my husband and I stopped at Bob Lobster for a bite on Sunday afternoon. When we approached the cashier to place our order, we noticed a hand-made sign that said, “All veterans or active duty members of the armed services could have a cup of chowder or an ice cream on the house. Thank you for your service.”

The generosity of that gesture gave me a lump in my throat. All too rare.
