A waste of money with waterfront plan

To the editor:

Each of us has the right to her or his opinion, but I read today, Sept. 11, after all the distress we have all been through these last few years, that the mayor now is opposed to private residences and underground parking on the waterfront. She alludes to the fact that the parking is unfeasible.

Remembering Roger Foster’s experience, how he had found underground parking impossible, I said this two years ago at an NRA meeting and added that the waters have risen even more since then. They just shrugged, conveying that once a developer took the RFP it wasn’t their problem. Think of the waste of money — revenue from NRA parking that could have been used for the park, for sidewalks and other parks, the waste of paper on proposals, the waste of time for all of us, the waste of money and space funding and housing Union Studio and the state funds from MassDevelopment that could have been used in more needy communities. They should all apologize.
