Obama has failed the middle class

To the editor

At the end of this year, our nation will have seen 4 million home foreclosures. Thousands of these homes would never have been foreclosed on if Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank did their jobs when asked by President Bush to look into Fannie and Freddie. These homes were basically owned by middle income families — so much for helping middle-income workers.

So here we are four years into a failed presidency. We have 16,000,000 middle-class Americans out on the streets helpless and almost hopeless.

President Obama, Sen. Harry Reid, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, MSNBC’s seven dwarfs all pride themselves in the auto industry bailout, saving union jobs. They never talk about the thousands of auto dealerships that were closed. Right here in Salisbury we lost the GMC and Jeep dealerships. These were small business owners creating middle-income jobs, lost. That’s your Democratic policies supporting middle- income people.

President Obama and his Democratic co-hosts want to cut the defense budget by $1 trillion over the next 10 years. Another help for the middle-class workers. This cut would put thousands of middle-income people out of work and close hundreds of small business companies.

President Obama has de-funded NASA, putting hundreds out of work across this nation. Middle-income jobs, scientific jobs, lost.

Our president, our Democratic leaders all priding themselves about working for the middle class are doing the opposite.

Homeowners lost, small business closures, middle-income jobs lost and President Obama claims to help the middle-income, working-class Americans.

Cities across our nation are going bankrupt. Several states face the same fate. Retirement funds in jeopardy, renewable energy companies failing and President Obama continues, as in the first presidential debate, to claim he’s working for the middle class. President Obama and his policies have failed and in his first debate he’s asking for four more years of the same failed policies.

Let’s elect Romney, Brown and Tisei and see what a new policy can do.
