Tree of Light raises $4,660 for AJH Aid Association

To the editor:

The Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association has been hosting its annual Tree of Light for over 20 years. A beautiful tree on the Highland Avenue side of AJH is aglow with hundred of lights in memory and in honor of family members and loved ones of the Greater Newburyport community.

This year we received over $4,660 in donations that will assist the Aid Association in its mission to raise money for equipment for Anna Jaques Hospital.

I would especially like to thank my committee Mary Kenealy, Martha Terry, Cheryl Satryb, Amanda LaPlante, Betty Knox, Margaret Hogan, Elizabeth Rooney and Mary Zerigian. Without their help, this event would not have been such a tremendous success.

I would also like to extend special thanks to: Mark Kelly of Sodexho and his staff at the AJH Cafe for graciously providing our refreshments; Dave Fowler and his crew for their remarkable efficiency in lighting the tree; and the Newburyport High School Varsity Chorus, under the able direction of Lisa Zaleski, for providing the wonderful seasonal music.

And lastly, sincere thanks to the community for memorializing and honoring their loved ones in such a meaningful manner.
