Grateful for donations from so many

To the editor:

The generosity and big hearts of the Newburyport community should be celebrated this Valentine’s Day. In January Small Solutions Big Ideas sent out letters to those who had donated in 2012. As we went through the names and number of the Newburyport small businesses, banks, restaurants and individuals, we were overwhelmed to recognize the many who made donations to our cause.

We are honored to be among the recipients of this spirit of giving. We are deeply grateful to the following organizations: the Institution for Savings, the Newburyport Bank, the Tannery, Paul Rogers and Sons, Natural High, eVitalize Café, Beach Plum Too, Shari Salon, Richard’s Appliance, Seaport Sign Works, Nunan Florist and Greenhouses, Susan’s Plantscaping, Shaw’s, Carry Out Café, Kate Brice Photography, Not Your Average Joe’s, David’s at the Garrison Inn, Plum Island Coffee Roasters, True Essence Healing, Spa Paradiso, Bob Hapler Photography, Samarra Faux Painting, Unity on the River, Doug Sweazey CPA, Barbara Haack Pottery, Jabberwocky, Gentry’s, Eureka, Stop and Shop, Ron Davitt DDS and all the local volunteers who assisted us. We would also like to recognize the important role of The Daily News (editor Katie Lovett) and the Current.

This generosity encourages our efforts and gives us the hope to keep going. My relationship to this city where I have lived for over 30 years has been transformed.

Sandra Thaxter and all the Small Solutions directors and volunteers.
