Amesbury Lions thankful for book drive's success

To the editor:

On Feb. 28, the Amesbury Lions Club partnered with the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce during the “Meet and Greet Nancy Kerrigan” event at Amesbury Sports Park.

In lieu of purchasing a ticket, guests were asked to donate a book for the International Lions Club Reading Initiative Program to help eradicate illiteracy.

There were 121 books collected and the Amesbury Lions paid it forward by donating them to Our Neighbors’ Table for its annual Easter Basket distribution.

The Amesbury Lions wish to thank the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and all who donated books to make this drive a great success.

The Lions look forward to partnering with the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce again in the future.
