Have you ever dreamed of living in a peaceful, healthy, happy world?
We are worldly wise to the cruelty, evil and hate that permeates life today. But what would life be like if your wildest dream for good could be realized?
Too often we have said to the nations around the world that we see as potential enemies: We are the most powerful nation. We can destroy you. We can turn your cities and villages and farmland into total desolation. We can take away your water and scorch your earth. We have done it in the past and we can do it again.
But what if we say, on the other hand, we are no longer going to do such things. Instead, we are going to give to you everything that will make your life better?
We are going to take the great financial resources of America and spend them not on destruction, but instead we are going to use them to create a better world for everyone.
We will do good to our own people and to your people. We will mend roads and highways and bridges. We will expand and improve schools all over the world. We will protect, clean up and modernize all of our water supplies. The list is endless for doing good.
We are really going to be a compassionate people. No matter what we have done in the past, no matter what you have done in the past, we are going to change the way we live and use our resources. We will treat you like brothers and sisters. And the love we show will gradually create a world of love, a peaceful healthy, happy world.
This is my dream for our world. What would it take to make it a reality? Or is it an impossibility? Because if it is an impossibility, what is the future of mankind on this little planet we call Earth?
