Giunta the best choice for Ward 5

Newburyport Daily News

---- — To the editor:

I’m a local homeowner and working mother of two daughters who are being educated here in the Newburyport school system. Raising a family and living in this community for more than a decade has made me proud to call Newburyport home and to embrace the character of a city well known for its historical significance, gorgeous landscapes and rich cultural offerings.

Residents have always been careful to elect representatives who will preserve the uniqueness of this city as well as move us forward in a way that enhances the quality of life for all of us who live here.

That is why I am voting for Larry Giunta as city councilor for Ward 5 on Nov. 5.

You can trust Larry to stay true to his word, to work relentlessly for what he believes in and to respond to the issues that affect the people he is elected to serve. Larry is well respected by his peers as a man with a solid worth ethic and strong moral compass. He is extremely dependable and approachable.

Larry has already immersed himself in city politics, so he is well informed on the issues that most immediately impact our city including preserving open waterfront, parking issues and improving our schools. In fact, Larry is a familiar face at City Hall and currently sits on the School Building Committee.

Larry possesses all the qualities that are important in an elected official, most notably, a credible decision-maker who just loves the city in which he works and lives.

When you are at a charity fundraiser, you’ll probably see Larry Giunta. When you are at a Clippers football game, you’ll probably see Larry Giunta. When you are at a City Council meeting, you’ll probably see Larry Giunta. He is already doing the job he loves.

Now it’s time to formally elect him.

I hope you will join me in casting your vote for someone who truly cares about the best interests of his neighbors, friends and fellow residents. I hope you will consider voting for Larry Giunta for Ward 5 city councilor.
