Amesbury needs an experienced mayor

To the editor:

We have learned in this life it is not what you know but who you know. That is why our vote is going to Mayor Kezer. Whilst Ken Gray is our neighbor and a very nice man, he has only been in the area a very short time, not long enough, in our opinion, to know his way around the Amesbury political scene. Also, he is not a householder or a real estate taxpayer and has never, to our knowledge, run for municipal office. He says he will negotiate with the unions; well, good luck on that; better men have tried and failed. Mayor Kezer has done a lot for Amesbury. In the 10 years we have been here we have seen more businesses open and a flourishing restaurant scene. As for the eternal carp about taxes, how can you lower these without cutting services? This mayor has done his best to rein in expenses and encourage business. So think very carefully about where you cast your vote on Nov. 5. Experience counts.
