Eckholdt will move city in right direction

To the editor:

I’m voting for Leslie Eckholdt because she wants to move Newburyport ahead in the right direction.

She wants an open waterfront park because she thinks great parks are economic engines for great cities.

She is proposing that Newburyport create a transparent citywide sidewalk improvement program.

She is a proponent of improved traffic control and safer crosswalks.

She supports updated zoning to preserve our cityscape and historic structures.

She understands the importance of providing a high quality education to our children.

She cares about our environment and is a proponent of less use of single-use plastic bags when possible.

She listens to others and is open hearing all viewpoints. She promises to be an active advocate for the Ward 3 residents.

I think she is right on the issues and that is why I am voting for Leslie Eckholdt for Ward 3 city councilor on Nov. 5.
