Students collect almost 200 food items

Newburyport Daily News

---- — To the editor:

On behalf of Newburyport Youth Services and the Newburyport Learning Enrichment, we would like to commend the fourth- and fifth-grade students from Inn Street Montessori for their collection of nonperishable food donations for families in need this upcoming holiday season. Students were asked to collect nearly 200 food items and were able to conquer the task.

With the support of their two fabulous teachers, the students were energized and excited to know they would be helping families in their own community to celebrate the holidays. They truly understood that every little bit helps, and you can make a difference.

It is important to note that if other citizens are interested in donating nonperishable food items or monetary donations, they can be dropped off at the Newburyport Youth Services office at the Kelley School Youth Center, 149 High St.

We look forward to teaming up with Inn Street Montessori next year for another hugely successful food drive.
