To the editor:
I go by the roundabout three to four times a day and watched it being finished with beautiful cobblestones. I have an F-150 that I use for my business. Could hardly make it around with that, much less the school bus that got hung up. How could a fire truck or emergency vehicle ever quickly get around to save someone’s life?
The next thing I see workers pulling out hundreds of thousands of cobblestones already laid at the taxpayers’ expense. Now they are laying cement and making it look like cobblestones. Glad I’m not plowing that rotary. And good luck to the motorcycles who understand how that pretty roundabout in Meredith, N.H., has caused so many injuries. Ever heard of a spot of hydraulic oil or a few pine needles? Don’t think this thing makes for a more beautiful Newburyport.
