Gomez: GOP/TP trial balloon

Wisdom admonishes us to judge a tree by the fruit it bears. Why such a perfect, shiny red apple like Mr. Gomez would choose to identify with the rotten, wormy fruit on the Tree of GOP/TP can only make me suspect his candidacy is an intentional trial balloon being used by them and paid for by the “New Republican Party” to see if it rises to the clouds or falls as if made of lead.

Trust in Congress these days is at an all-time low of about 17 percent. Disgusted voters have made it abundantly clear they are looking for a third party in politics. All I can say to Mr. Gomez in his GOP Senate run is to quote a local poet, John Greenleaf Whittier: “Of all sad words of pen or tongue the saddest are: It could have been.”
