Thanks for supporting Trav's Trail Run

To the editor:

On Sunday, May 19, the 13th Annual Trav’s Trail Run was run at Maudslay State Park on the 3-mile Travis Landreth Cross Country Course. Travis was a Newburyport High All-Scholastic distance runner, an All-American at UConn and a member of multiple national teams. He was training with the NIKE-sponsored Farm Team in California, while pursuing his dream of becoming an Olympian at the time of his death. Travis was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Trav’s Trail Run is the sole fundraiser for the Travis Landreth Memorial Scholarship Fund. All proceeds from the race help fund six separate scholarships for a number of high school and post-collegiate runners who are currently pursuing their dreams as Travis had. This year’s race was highly successful; more than 300 entrants raced on the superb cross-country course.

The race committee would like to thank the following for their generous contributions as well as their help and support: Greater Boston Running Company, New Balance, Rob Kovacs and Maudslay State Park, Institution for Savings, Whirlaway Sports Center, Emergency Ice, Stina Lindroth and the Joppa Flats Running Club.

Special thanks go to all who ran for their support. See you at Trav’s Trail Run on May 18, 2014.
