Take a stand against Amesbury pay raises

To the editor:

Your recent opinion piece regarding the Amesbury “fat pay raises” was exactly what I think needs to be said and said by all of us paying the already high taxes.

The arrogance of proposing such increases when most of those living and working in Amesbury are working without such increases in their wages while paying ever-increasing taxes (real estate and then meal tax increase) is beyond understanding.

The Finance Committee is composed of most of the council! Isn’t there some sort of conflict of interest at work here?

We as residents need to be vocal about our objection to all of this and I salute The Daily News for making that stand obvious.
