Starting April 2, people who comment on The Daily News website will be required to use their real name as their screen identity.
There are two ways to do this. You can use your Facebook account, or you can use a Disqus account.
Facebook option: If you have an existing Disqus account as well as a Facebook account, log out. Six small sign-in option boxes will appear above the big box where you type in your comment. One of the options listed is to use your Facebook account as your log-in. Click on the blue box with the Facebook "F" and follow the instructions. If you do not have an existing Disqus account, you can create an account using the Facebook function.
Your first post will not appear instantly. It will be put in limbo until The Daily News activates your account.
Disqus option: Email the following information to email@example.com: Your name, your address and hometown, and your phone number. This information will be verified, and you will be contacted when your account is ready to be enabled, with instructions on the last step you need to take.
People who attempt to use false names will be blocked from posting on the site.
