'Stepping Out for the Cure' a smashing success

To the editor:

We extend our thanks to all the generous businesses and individuals who made the fourth annual “Stepping Out for the Cure” event a roaring success. The event, held July 11 at Phat Cat Bistro in Amesbury, raised almost $10,000 to benefit Dana Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund.

Thank you to all, including: Paul and Christina of Phat Cat Bistro for their fabulous food, warm atmosphere, and unflagging support of this cause; the band Lux whose swinging, jazzy vibes kept toes tapping all evening; auctioneer Steve Deorocki, who amazed us, amused the crowd and amassed big bids for the cause; the many artists and businesses who generously contributed their talent and specialties: Amesbury Industrial Supply, Sean Brown, Alan Bull, Rocco Coviello, Crave Restaurant, Tristan DeWitt, Richard Eastman, Glow Salon, Lance Hidy, Hive Salon, Italia Outdoors, Matthew Muise, Earl Olmstead, Kyla O’Neil, Gordon Pryzbyla, Kai Vlahos, Christopher G. Watts, Lee Webber, Shari Wilkenson, and Nina Wishnok.

We are three lucky ladies to know so many creative, thoughtful, generous people.
