Praise for Jones, views on waterfront

To the editor:

I applaud City Councilor Tom Jones for speaking out against commercial development on the waterfront. He is obviously passionate about this issue and I am, as well.

We have many treasures in our lovely city and one of them is the waterfront. Any type of building on this property would take away from the peacefulness, serenity and beauty of this glorious place.

I also agree with Mr. Jones as far as developing the open space near the Route 1 circle. That area is three to four times larger than the waterfront and would not infringe on anyone’s right to the quiet enjoyment we now have.

Again, thank you Mr. Jones for your clarity and vision of this situation.
