---- — To the editor:
We had an amazing turnout on Saturday, May 11, at Uncle Eddie’s for the 7th Annual “Boobfest” for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Musicians from seven generous and talented bands (Split Risk, Render, Preciphist, Blue Eyed Murder, Gunz 4 Destruction, Anything Goes, and Alive ‘n’ Kickin’) all donated their time and talent to help raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause. To everyone who supported us and participated in the fun and the raffles, thank you so much. Team Charlie’s Angels raised close to $3,000 that night; we couldn’t have done it without your support!
Other local businesses who also supported our efforts this year to “turn the beach pink” for a weekend: Seaport Signworks (very generous donations of a banner, posters and stickers for the event), Splash Salisbury (raffle Friday night), Uncle Eddie’s (hosted “Boobfest VII” Saturday night), and The Upper Deck (Red Sox raffle on Sunday, Mother’s Day). Again, thank you all so much for helping us raise awareness. Team Charlie’s Angels is currently in first place for team fund raising for Boston this year (4th year in a row) with over $64,000 raised and still climbing. The 2-day, 39-mile walk was held May 18th and 19th, but donations will be accepted for 2013 through the end of August. To check out our progress or to make a donation, please visit this page www.avonwalk.org/boston/teams.html and click on team #1 (Charlie’s Angels). Thank you all so much!
