On May 17, the 31st Annual Golf Tournament in remembrance of Amesbury Lion Harland G. Main was held at the Amesbury Golf and Country Club. The format was a five-person team scramble with a shotgun start. The tournament was a huge success for the Lions Club. Prizes were awarded following the 18-hole event with a fine luncheon and raffle.

First team low gross was won by the team of Capt. Peter Suorsa, Butch Lavoie, Brad Parker, Rick Quarantiello and Jack Grady. Second team low gross was won by the team of Capt. Bob Deshaies, Louise Healey, Luke Weigel, Lynn Morse and Charlie Cullen. First place low net was won by the team of Capt. Donald Main, Kevin Callahan, Brian George, Ray Pelletier and Dan Linehan. Second place low net was won by the team of Capt. Marc MacBurnie, Jan Morse, Kim Foulker, Scott Terry and Mike Webber.

The longest drive for the men was won by Heath Burdic and for the women by Louise Healey. The closest to the pin contest was won by Lou Lavoie

The Amesbury Lions Club thanks all sponsors and donors as well as the players that made this tournament a success. A special thanks goes to The Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank and to Dick MacBurnie for co-sponsoring the golf carts. We would also like to thank the owners and staff of the Amesbury Golf and Country Club for providing us with such a great course and as always a wonderful luncheon following the tournament.
