Successful fundraiser helped with funeral expenses

To the editor:

On Saturday, July 12, a very successful fundraiser was held for the parents of Jeff Gilbert. Jeff was killed in a motorcycle accident on July 7. Through the goodness of Jeff’s friends, this tribute to his life was a great way to raise money to help with burial expenses.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and those who donated their time and food. Because of the support of Amesbury and surrounding communities, we were able to have over 35 raffles of merchandise and gift certificates that were donated. The Lafayette Club in Amesbury donated the hall, their time and their services.

We would like to thank Amesbury Chair for their donation of a rocking chair, a gift basket from the Texas Road House in Danvers, a cookout for 20 people from the Butchery in Danvers, a weekend away camping from Wild Acres Family Campground at Old Orchard Beach, a gift basket from Merrimac Essentials of Amesbury, a gift basket from Super Cuts in Salisbury, Bernadette’s Spa donated a basket and a gift certificate, a gift basket from Paws and Pet’s Boutique, a car wash package from Sean and Colleen Roaf and two baskets of scratch tickets.

The many gift certificates donated by Vermette’s Supermarket, Barking Dog, Hodgie’s, Markey’s Lobster Pool, Spuds, Cellular Sales, Transformations, three from Amesbury Massage, Riverwalk Lanes, The Mandarin, Orange Leaf, Shanti, Pretty Poppy, Chili’s, The Barn, Serenity, Therapeutic Benefits, Firehouse in Peabody donated by Kris Bowen, Famous Pizza, Pizza Factory and Seed to Stem, Jewelry from Bobbles and Lace and three gifts were donated from Marcorelle’s Liquor Store. A large quantity of jewelry was donated from Brian Cardone and Carla Picard, which was for sale. I would also like to mention the window stickers in memory of Jeff Gilbert donated by Joel Kelcourse. All proceeds were deposited in the Jeff Gilbert Fund at TD Bank in Amesbury.

On Wednesday, July 24, the Texas Road House in Danvers hosted a fundraiser. They donated 20 percent of the sales from 5 through 8 p.m. to the Jeff Gilbert Fund.
